Air Transportation

The 775-mile flight to St. Paul Island is with PenAir, a well-established and experienced airline. They also are an Alaska Airlines partner. The 271 flight departs Anchorage at 11:45am and arrives into St. Paul about 3:00 pm. The return flight, again flight 271, departs St. Paul at 4:00 pm and arrives into Anchorage at 7:30 pm. All times are approximated.

The paved runway was finished at the end of August of 2005.

Pen Air has two types of aircrafts that fly to St. Paul. The Fairchild Metroliner III which holds 16 passengers with no restrooms on board and the 340 Saab which holds 28 passengers with restrooms on board.

Your flight passes over some of the most spectacular and remote country in Alaska including active volcanos and lakes the size of small seas.
